How can you tell the difference between a jungle carpet python and an irian jaya carpet python?

What about babies? Don't jungle carpets have a dark tannish tinge when younger?

Re: How do you tell the difference...
Jungles are usually bright yellow and black and Irian Jayas are usually more of a reddish-orange and jungles tend to get longer and thicker then Irian's do. I do believe that the Irian Jaya is the smallest species of Morelia. Personally, my favorite species of carpets is the Jungle.

Re: How do you tell the difference...
I have seen adult photos of both and am amazed. I love my little jungle girl But when I looked up photos of each they kind of looked very similar and of course google always throws both at you so you have no idea which is which. Thanks Freebody for the pics above. Very helpful
I wish I had the money for a JAG!!! Those caught my eye awhile back and MAN...sexy snake right there, haha.

the snake in the link belongs to a friend of mine who lives in Edinburgh scotland
it was bred by rolph milkelson from holland.rolph specialises in diamond bredl crosses and various other morelia
my friend just brought a diamond bredl male back from hamn also bred by rolph.
he also brought a diamond bredl jaguar sibling home as well.im not sure who bred that
its looking like the female in the link will be bred to a hatchling of a male diamond x female bredl crossing.its an 07 so my mates waiting on the female getting up to size.
that should make a very interesting clutch when the time comes.
cheers shaun
