Chaos is an understatment.

Since MSN got popular, I cannot even stand email anymore. Why email when I can msn. I dread even opening lame slow email. The only feature they need to add to MSN is the ability to send messages to people offline, which they will recieve when they go online. Not sure why they haven't incorperated this as almost every other instant message program allows it.

Anyways, hopefully we all don't go nuts without it lol

We have obtained new details on the previously announced Microsoft Security Bulletins. Core Security Technologies today published a vulnerability in MSN Messenger clients up to version 6. According to the report, using a specially-crafted MSN Display Picture, an attacker could trigger a buffer overflow vulnerability on a contact's computer and execute arbitrary code.

The attack would travel through the established chat session and would pass unnoticed by firewalls, network intrusion detection systems and even host-based personal firewalls and antivirus software. Windows Messenger and Windows Media Player are also affected by this vulnerability.

"This is a critical security flaw since it directly affects more than 130 million users and because the attack is very likely to go unnoticed by the several layers of security countermeasures commonly used today," said Ivan Arce, CTO at Core Security Technologies. "Since initially reporting the flaw, we have been working closely with [Microsoft] and we are pleased to see that a fix is now available."

You're probably visiting Mess.be expecting to read this: Yes, as of this moment it's down again. It could well be Microsoft addressing the security vulnerability mentioned in the post right below this one.

Please have patience while the Messenger ops team tries to fix the current issues so you can log into MSN Messenger, Windows Messenger and MSN Web Messenger again soon. Meanwhile, read our yesterday's cool exclusive on the upcoming new Messenger Plus! feature.

Lolol sure she is Matt.

I did notice that some people have access to msn even when mine is down. I remember a similar problem a few months back and to counter this problem, you had to change some of the ports on msn. I am searching for the link and if I find it I will post it.

It turns my stommach to see how ''dependent'' we have become to microsoft... But it's even funnier to see that bill gates can't even block popups on his e-mails, he has a team that filters his e-mail all day long, lmao.

It's amazing how much we've come to relie on technology like MSN, ICQ, Y!, AIM to communicate. Honestly how many of us actually email friends now? I know that I normally just IM them on whichever program they use.
MSN needs the offline messaging. If/when? they add it, MSN would be the "best" IM service out there..

And yes, I use MSN everyday and am going crazy not being able to contact certain people.
