Some pics from my trip to Matt's Zoo

We went to Matt_K's house today to drop off some corns, and of course to check out all his stuff............

It was also my first time EVER being around a Pit Bull. I love all dogs, but have always had that fear about Pit Bulls, because of media and the fact I have never met one. Well today I realized I must have one.....

Look how aggresive and mean she is! I mean I feared for my life at least three times while I was there....I KNOW that the kissing all over my boyfriends face was a warning she was going to attack....

<img src="http://8snakes.myftp.org/marisa/images/matthouse/princess.jpg">

Then she tried to maul me!

<img src="http://8snakes.myftp.org/marisa/images/matthouse/princess2.jpg">
<img src="http://8snakes.myftp.org/marisa/images/matthouse/princess3.jpg">
<img src="http://8snakes.myftp.org/marisa/images/matthouse/princess4.jpg">

The truth obviously is that this dog is the nicest sweetest dog I have met. She was sooooo well behaved and wanted nothing more than to nap on the couch or be a love sponge. I will never ever have the same thoughts about Pit Bulls after today.

Herps......

Amazing boas...

<img src="http://8snakes.myftp.org/marisa/images/matthouse/boa4.jpg">

Amazing black blood....although hoenstly this snake and most of Matt's snakes scare the crap out of me....

<img src="http://8snakes.myftp.org/marisa/images/matthouse/blackblood.jpg">

Male Ball Python with something funky going on! You gotta see this guy in person....very "IMG" like....

<img src="http://8snakes.myftp.org/marisa/images/matthouse/ballpython.jpg">

Tokay
<img src="http://8snakes.myftp.org/marisa/images/matthouse/tokay.jpg">

And a personal favorite, a RES Matt adopted off me a few months ago, doing outstanding of course.....Ruckus

<img src="http://8snakes.myftp.org/marisa/images/matthouse/turtle.jpg">

One thing that DID prove to be an attack animal was the Hog Island Boa, unfortuantly it missed Matt's face by a couple inches or else we would all be laughing at some pics of that right now! hahaha

LMFAO!! My attack dog isn't so much of an attack dog is she??? She's actually relaxing on the couch right now after a fight with a bone as big as her..

Had the Hog bit me, I think i would be laughing with you guys.. I can't believe she struck at my face, i still don't believe you guys.. Although, she did tag my hand, so i guess anything is possible.. I dunno what you guys brought with you, or what you whispered to my animals.. They're honestly never aggressive, but you guys come around and BANG, they all want flesh..

Thanks again for the corns guys, they're awesome and i will get pics once they shed out!!

The tokay is sweet Heather but he looks evil...

Matt thinks my presences was the reason the snakes were all pissy, but I KNOW he was likke rubbing rat scent all over in the cages before I got there to "liven" them up for me.

It does look like a lab, until it looks at you.. Then you can see Pit...

I was laughing so hard when she was taking the pics of the blood.. She was shaking like a leaf..

Pitties are amazing dogs! I have a friend that she is going to have a 2nd one.

That pit totally looks like a lab. Which leads me to my question....is it a mix breed or pure pit?

BTW...nice lookin snakes...that blood is wicked!!

Now, I just read this article this morning. I know it's a bit of bad press, but the possibility of something like this happening is why I would never own a pitbull.

http://www.nydailynews.com/front/sto...p-189407c.html

....and these dogs supposedly never acted like this before. My friend had a lab/pit mix years ago, and that dog did turn viscious on me for no reason. Since that day it snapped, that dog was NEVER the same. He doesn't have it anymore.

She is chipped and listed as a pure pit.. My guess, she's a mix.. I adopted her a little less then a month ago, she's fine with me, she's fine with visitors and she's amazing with my young nephews..

The problem with the press is, they only tell the stories of the BAD happenings.. Im tired of hearing people say, 'i only hear bad things about them'.. Gee, i wonder why.. The good stories are never told..

Good stories of ANY kind are rarely told. About dogs, people or anything. It's bad news people like to hear apparently, so the media delivers.

Let me tell everyone something, ANY dog can snap, attack, get scared and bite, etc. Not just Pit Bulls. Matt's dog was the sweetest little thing in the world, all the same like any dog, sure one day she might not act correctly. But that's not her fault, if something happens it would be Matt's fault. Period. It's the owners not the dogs people!

Anyways I will try and gets those pics straight next time, lol not sure why I didn't this time. Thanks for looking though guys!

Yes, it would be my fault.. It's all in how a dog is trained/raised in my opinion.. As some of you know, I deliver the rural mail in my neck of the woods (literally).. So, i see many dogs everyday.. And im not kidding when i say that the dogs i get most nervous when around are the Labs and smaller dogs.. They're always running up to you, jumping up or growling/barking.. However, there are a couple houses with Rottis and one with a Pit, and honestly, the dogs don't move.. They just watch what you're doing, then look away as we drive off.. The others come running down to the mailbox barking and growling..

Now if one of these labs or cockerspaniels were to bite me, do you think they would ban this breed of dog in my town?? I highly doubt it.. I have watched the neighbours yorkie poo chase kids, nip at delivery guys and have had to listen to it bark for 45 minutes straight while playing in my yard with my nephews.. But no one would ever want to ban this type of 'lap' dog..
