Honduran Week

I guess with all the other females poping this week...she had to join the club. She's still laying but here are the first 3.

Brian
More pics to follow when she's all done.

Yup, that's my girl... She always had good clutches usually around a dozen. You might get some aberrant babies too.
Nice job Brian! Beautiful white eggs..
Her sister(back with me) will be laying shortly as well.

13 in the incubator and looks like she has at least 2 more to go.
She's a trooper.
How long did you have her Roy?

That's awesome man!

You pull them out as she lays them? Wouldn't it be easier/safer to just wait until she finishes and then collect the whole lot of them?? Man, if I waited for every single egg to be layed around here, I'd go frickin' INSANE, LOL!

I've been pulling them out every few hours. I'm being cheap this year. I don't want to spring for another hovabator this year and if she lays a large clump...they'll never fit. That's one of the down falls of the hovabator. I'm not as busy as you this year Jeff. I only have 3 maybe 4 females breeding. I'm still in the building stage. The majority of my female milks are still under the breeding age.
I'm about to do another move back to Ottawa from New Brunswick. Thank gosh i only have a few breeding. I'm also lucky enough to be working from home these days developing a web site for my unit in the forces.
Not bad for government work eh.

Roy: She got some very pretty aberrant patterns on her. Deep red, very clean and very docile as i'm sure you remember.

Thanks Mary and all.

Final count is 14 good and 1 that is border line. I guess she put to much weight on it and it burst. It was still intact so i put it in with the others anyways. Guess time will tell.

Brian, she is one I produced and raised in the mid 90's back when I was selective breeding for wide symmetrical bands and low black tipping..Most of them went to the USA back then, but she is one I kept back. This was also the era when I was producing the vanishing pattern Hondos, so that trait might well exist in that female.
In 2000 I sold all my Hondurans to Craig Stewart, and there were several pairs of them.
He produced some scrambled vanishings, out of them , and then advised me he would sell the entire group.
The gentleman he is, Craig was kind enough to offer to return the pair of my choice .
Not really liking aberrancies since it wasn't my goal with the project, I took the female with the most perfect bands, which most represented what I had spent 12 years breeding for.
Craig eventually sold all the remaining adults, some to the USA and a few to our friend Grant Crossman.

Her life now continues with you, and from all accounts she couldn't be in better hands.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see a fellow triangulum lover like yourself continuing her reproductive life.
Best Regards and good hatching!
