We have lost a valuable member of this community.

Rick (aka MudBoy) passed away last night from a long struggle with bone cancer. I was contacted by his son and asked to pass this on to all his friends here on this forum. At Rick's request, please do not send email to his old email address. You are more than welcome to post your condolences here.

Rick, you will be missed, and we will never forget what you had offered to us in your knowledge and friendship.

God bless!!

Wow, I'm in shock here and I'm not quite sure what to say. I did not converse personally with Rick, but I did read all of his posts that he made and I learned so much from him in the short amount of time that he was a member here. He will be missed.

Please send my deepest condolences to his family.

Trace

I am shocked and deeply saddened by this news - I read all his posts, delighted in the photos that he shared and feel very blessed to have benefited from his knowledge.

This is such a loss to those of us here, and we can only imagine the impact on his family and friends - my sympathies to them all,

mary v.

rick was an amazing contribution to this site, his knowledge of hots and aussie snakes was well respected here!

Id like to offer my condolences to his family and friends also, let them know that he will indeed be missed very much here.

I don't have the words. Great loss to the reptile (and particularly venomous) community. Send our best to the family. His dedication to herps is inspiring, he was still posting 2 days ago. A strong person that will be greatly missed.
