Hey right now I have a Red Tiger Oscar. I was going to get another when i get a big enough tank and I figured I would just make a poll on what you think the nicest would be.

How big is the oscar that you have now? Cause if hes real big he may pick on the other oscar when you get him.

Not a good idea to introduce another Oscar after the one you have has dominated the tank for that amount of time. Better to buy them at the same time. Your oscar, after being alone for that amount of time would most likely kill anything you put into the tank with him. He sees the tank as his territory and will defend it to the death.

Plus, you don't even have a tank big enough to house one oscar for more than a year let alone two. Two adult oscars are going to require a minimum 125 gal tank, most likely a bigger one.

If you finally do get a tank big enough for two, it is going to cost a bundle to get another big oscar to go with your now adult oscar of 10 inches.

Remember, you are only 15, you have your whole life ahead of you to get all of the animals yuo want. Don't strain yourself out trying to get everything now.

Yeah I did read the whole post. And I see what your saying totally. I almost bought a albino oscar that I saw and I was up there asking, but I stopped myself after thiking of the tank I have, and how big they will need. And I will definately buy a huge tank and put TONS of plants in before I introduce another Oscar, do you think that would be ok??

The great white has crossed my mind, but I already will have a huge burm to feed

I suggested plants to snakeman in the other thread so the fish would feel more sheltered but I thought the fish was smaller. Rocks and driftwood would be better of course.

An adult oscar will tear apart, knock down, and move around anything in the tank that is not glued into place. If you want a natural looking tank, silicone some rocks and or driftwood in place before adding water. This way it cannot move anything. My oscar would knock the hood off the tank whenever you walked you to his tank with food. I lost count of the times I had to pick him up off the floor because he got himself all worked up and jump right out of the tank after knocking the hood off. Finally had to construct a custom hood that was secired to the tank.

Lol ok ill se some rocks and driftwood, but how would you silicon them?? to the underground filter? Good thing he only jumped out when you would come in HP, otherwise you might of had to pick him up but not into the tank:That would be horrible
