Question My first Kenyan Sand Boa... Is this normal?

Hello! I'm Ly and I'm new to the forums. I just got my first snake a day ago. I've been researching immensely for the past few months but I still have a few questions.

I just got a really cute 2 month old boy. He is extremely sweet and didn't even seem nervous when I first handled him before I put him in the enclosure yesterday. I'm suffering from a bit of new snake owner syndrome, hehe, worrying and wanting desperately to hold him, but I've promised myself I won't handle him for a week to let him settle.

I've heard they are nocturnal, so is it normal for him to sit in one place all day in the substrate? I can see part of him pressed against the glass, and I noticed him at 6 AM like that and I come back 7 hours later and he is in the same exact place. Is he just sleeping? Should I worry?

Also, what are the general signs I should look out for if he is feeling stressed?

Thank you for your time!

Sand boas are purely ambush predators. You won't see your boy moving much at all. If he is moving alot, that is a sign of stress.

Congrats on the new addition and welcome to the forum!

Whew! Okay, thank you! That makes sense to me. Everything I know about them I have read, this is my first actual experience with one. So that makes me feel a lot better. Maybe he will move a bit tonight, we'll see, but I'm a lot less worried about it now. That's kind of what I figured was the case but I had to be sure.

Thank you <3 It is a pleasure to be here!
