Question Snake-proofing sliding tack terarriums

I'm getting my first snake here on Tuesday (yay!) and I'm a little concerned about snake escape-artistry. It slides on a track, not too different from another user here on the forums who I've seen, and the part where it slides into place has two holes wherein you put two solid metal pins in place which keeps it from moving at all. You can't lift the lid, basically, and when the pins are in place, locked by metal, it doesn't slide. Should I still have clips in place?

Can a snake push through a screen? I haven't heard of anything like that happening thus far, I don't really want any nasty surprises! .___.
