He wasn't sure about it at first(as I'm sure it smells different than the mice he usually eats) but after a few minutes of tasting he eventually decided that it was food. I was actually surprised because I've heard a few people talk about how difficult it can be to get some snakes to switch. Either way, he made short work of the rat and went back to bed. It left a nice size lump in his belly, so hopefully it keeps him nice and full
