Treating Mites Question

So I bought a new female BP the other day and she has mites. I went to the pet store today and got some rats and Mite Off. I am going to see if she will go ahead and eat tonight and start treating her Wednesday, if she does, if not I will start in the morning. I plan to soak her and clean her enclosure and then spray her down with the Mite Off. My question is should I use the betadine "weak tea" to soak her in or not? I've heard lots of people say it is good but I've heard also that it can cause serious health problems, especially if they drink any of it. So I'm asking for your opinions and experiences.
