Found this Eastern Garter (Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis) today near my home.
It freaked right out when I caught it, mouth wide open, death rolls, musking, the works. Then, it calmed right down and allowed me to take some great shots of it. It actually calmed down so much that you'd think it was a pet. When I released it, it almost slithered back onto my hand - then it sat there a while and allowed me photograph it.
