Hi, snake lovers! I've been a reptile enthusiast for as long as I can remember. As a child I checked out the same reptile books over and over from my small school library and the local public library. By the time I was 10, I'd proven to my dad that I could identify snakes, and he allowed me to catch snakes as long as I was 100% sure they weren't venomous. So, I started bringing home speckled king snakes, gray rat snakes, ring necked snakes, black racers, etc. to go along with the lizards and turtles that I'd always kept.
Anyway, fast forward a few decades and I'm now 37 years old and I still love reptiles, and snakes in particular. However, I'm not really a "collector" like a lot of you guys. Since adulthood, I've only kept a few snakes here and there. Currently, I only have an egyptian tortoise, and my 9 year old daughter has an amber corn snake of her own. That's the extent of our reptiles at this time.
But, for the past several months I've been thinking about finally trying to acquire my dream snake - an eastern indigo. I'm currently trying to sort out all the legalities of owning one in AL where they are an indigenous species, and have been in contact with some people on the matter.
Anyway, all my internet research got the fire going again, so I started to search for a good snake forum, and that's how I found this place. So, Hi.
Wheew, sorry for the life story as an introduction, but I like to write. Haha. Looking forward to reading more on the site.
