New snake owner California Kingsnake

Hi all. Hello everyone! I am new to the forum and have owned my first snake, a kingsnake (technically my daughter's) for 3 weeks. My daughter named "him" Gilbert, and he's settling in nicely. I think he is nearly a year old. Petsmart's records show they got him about 9 months ago. He's very mellow and has eaten well the three times we've fed him. He is getting ready to shed. I'm posting a question about heating his tank in the enclosures forum.
