Storm safety and snakes?

So, our storm season is bad this year. Had a tornado a couple miles from my house last night and getting more this evening. They'll continue probably for a few more weeks. We don't have a storm shelter but use a small interior closet for shelter... I'd like to bring the snakes with us (duh) but need some opinions on containing them. I was thinking of using pillow cases or perhaps small Tupperware containers with air holes. Or even a combo of both. Figured I'd treat it similar to a car trip. Generally, tornado warnings last a short period of time so it'd be like 30 mins-1 hour out of their enclosures. Any other suggestions?
