I would also take it further and say I guarantee you didn't get them all. I go to my local pet store often and I just won't touch the snakes anymore. I have stopped getting random mite infestations. My kids do hold the rodents though.

This.... I've never gotten mites in my main collection and I REGULARLY receive import shipments that are loaded with mites... Learn to quarantine and treat them and you don't even need to worry about it...
