For weeks now I have been dreading turning 40. Not because it means I'm getting to be a certain age or because life is halfway over. I don't have a sudden urge to buy a sports car or motor cycle (a small snake compulsion perhaps). I've been more dreading the idea that my family and friends would break out the cliche black balloons, over the hill banners and boxes of adult diapers. Luckily my wife is awesome, and when I got home from work, she brought out one of the funniest, most memorable gifts I've ever received, a large bowl arranged like a salad made of forty $1 bills, 40 snickers, 40 Reeses, and 40 frozen mice! (in bags of course). I told her with all those mice I'll need to get a new snake. She responded by saying we would need a bigger house!
We meet with the contractor later this morning.
