John found this gem today. The female came out of the nest to feed after laying 2 eggs (one bad one and this good one) and went back in about an hour later. She has been in the nest box for 10 hours. We took a peek and saw that she has made a mound of dirt and is still laying. I will update tomorrow with a final egg count. For now, here is a photo of the good egg and the sire of the clutch. If these hatch, it will the first time that true CBB were produced in the US. Just want to congratulate my partner John on his hard work paying off. This is a huge start to our breeding season...
