Last year while herping with my son we found this male Checkered Garter. My son insisted that I bring him home. When I kept checkereds in the past I used to have to go to the pet store and buy feeder fish for them.....But this little guy was a rodent feeder from the start. He was found in an area that had lots of rodents......
