Skin Disorder

I Have a Standard Ball python, he is about 1 year old. He has always had shedding issues, and I have been consoled to let him wok it out. Well this last time he really seemed to be stuck in his shed, so I gave him a bath in a bucket of water and some shed aid I got from the pet shop. The skin came off and all looked ok after the bath. He scraped off the skin on a rock in the cage. But I cleaned his cage yesterday and picked him up and his belly on the bottom third of his body is raw in the center with what looks like a scab running down either side of the raw area. Any ideas on how to treat it or what I am doing wrong with my husbandry?
