Talking Found a Cope's Gray...(sorry didnt get pics)

Who gets ridiculously excited about frogs? I do!

I'm sure my husband thought he had married a crazy lady last night. We were out on an evening walk, heading past a swamp where the spring peepers and Gray Treefrogs were singing loudly. I had just mentioned to my hubby how I wish I could catch one of them when suddenly I saw a Cope's Gray Treefrog heading across the road toward the deafening chorus. Now, these little guys are my *favorite* native frog. I ran over and scooped her up, acting irrationally excited as I showed my hubby the catch. I so badly wanted to keep her but I knew that couldn't be...I walked into the grass and let her go away from the road.

The rest of our walk I couldn't stop talking about frogs...I was rather giddy after that. You see, they are hard to find around here. The last one I ever saw was probably about ten years ago. That's a long time to wait to see your favorite amphibian.

Here's a pic I found on the net so you know what they look like.
