no followthrough... why???

I have a male/female pair of dragons, not sure of exact age but definitely over a year and a half.... Anyway, there's lots of head bobbing and arm waiving and push-ups going on but no follow up... WHY IS THIS??? Im not really looking to breed them even though I have an awsome looking yellow male, but I do have quite a few people asking me to keep them in mind if they ever do produce eggs so I clutch here and there would be nice. But that's not really my main conserne.... Im more worried as to why something that should come naturally ISN'T. I was thinking maybe I should try to find another male breedie to borrow for a little while to get my male more rev'd up.... it seems like he does the push ups and all the normal stuff but then he looses all interest and just walks away and finds a corner to go lay in... anyone know why this may be????
