I can't find the head!

I was trying to feed one of my yearlings the pinkie body that I had leftover from feeding one of my small hatchlings the head. It was hilarious. He spent a good 5 minutes looking for the head. I had this headless pinkie dangling from hemostats as he circled around it, baffled where on earth the head was so he could eat it. He gave up circling the pinkie, and went on a broader search, looking at me... seriously confused. He looked all around his tub, just could not put together where the head could have gone. I finally set the pinkie in his tub, he continued to give a good look around for a bit, and finally decided he would eat it without the head. Poor guy, you would think he just saw bigfoot or something how surprised he was at the whole ordeal.
