That sounds so unnecessary! I could not hold anything against anyone who kills and eats herps if they are among the few available sources of food they have available - I would eat them too. But I'm sure many viewers love seeing them kill and eat herps, despite the fact that they may not need to do that at all. It's all for the purpose of "entertainment" together with possibly providing some educational tips on survival with herps as one of your few available food sources.
But I haven't seen either of these shows, so I really cannot give a fair opinion until I do. I will now have to check them out despite the fact that I'm almost certain it will make me too.
