looking for something particular
Hello new forum friends!
I'm new to the forum, but not new to reptiles, in my life, I kept a lot of different animals.
In the reptile department, I succefully kept:
2 chinese water dragons (they breeded, but I failed as an egg caretaker)
1 burmeese pyton (hatchling until it was 7 feet long, I was young and naïve back then I was told he would not outgrow his tank...)
2 hatchling box turtles, Jack is now 10 years old and Daniel's 3 years old. Both in top shape, can't wait to see eggs (still years away...)
So thats my introduction before I get tagged as a beginner.
I also happen to be a bonsai enthuisast. I have various bonsais of various shapes and sizes and ages. Trees that hibernate as well as tropical trees requiring lots of humidity.
What I am looking for:
A small(ish) tree snake that will be living in one of my many bonsais. I'm looking for a snake that wont mind being handled once in a while, something that will not grow more than a meter+ long and that will remain slim. What I have in mind is in the range of:
any Cyclophiops
any Philothamnus
Opheodrys aestivus
Or any suggestion of snakes that could look, act, be in the same size or even smaller than those I mentionned.
One problem I'm sure I'll have is where to get those, since I live in Québec, snakes others than pytons, boas, kings, milks and corns, seem to be hard to find.
Anyone can help with breeder contacts?
Anyone know other snakes I could look for?
Price of the snake, feeding habits, humidity don't matter, evreything will be taken into consideration!
Thank you
