hey guys
im new to this site.. i have a female red tailed boa which is about 5 feet 5 inches. i joined this site because i have questions like the fact everyone says that the snakes enclosure must be at least 28 degrees Celsius. i have housed my snake in various places, currently in a homemade wood/glass cage, which is about 4.5 feet long, by about 2.5 feet wide, and about 1 and a half feet tall. the top is just mesh wiring though, and i have a florescent bulb for light, as well as a heat lamp on top. it is in the basement, so it is usually no more then 22 degrees. after i read up on temperatures, i was starting to get worried. my dad said she will be fine because she has been in the same cage for about 1 year now. i was wondering if it is necessary to change its living conditions. also i am starting to think about buying a male boa and breeding them, but im not sure how old the need to be and whether they need to be full grown and stuff. just a few things that i would like to know
