That`s why the emoticons and lols are so important. It may seem a bit childish at a glance for someone that doesn`t frequent forums but they do a very important job in my opinion. They shown intent, they try to make up for not being able to see a human face

I have found this to be true in a big way.

A simple "wink" at the end of a sentance can signify "I'm just picking" and lighten the mood.
