Question New tank, need to make a lid.

We got a new tank for our ball python, Benny. The tank is supposedly 70 gal, but I'm not sure. It's 12" deep by 18" high by 48" long. The problem is; it doesn't have a lid.

So... I need to make one. This is what the tank and the top look like;

And the proposed lid, to scale; (the red line is the outside dimension of the top of the tank, the light blue is the larger holes, and the black is the proposed lid)

The underside would be lined with screen so that the holes in the lid (5" diameter) are covered. The light that we have has a 5 1/2" diameter and would sit on top of one of the holes.

Does this look like it would provide enough ventilation for a ball python?
Any other comments or ideas?
