Had to go to the pet store for ferret litter....

And came out with a new snake!

The highlights!
"Is the california kingsnake captive bred or wild caught"
Clerk -"Uh, I dunno, I've only been here 3 weeks, let me get the manager."
Manager "Uh.... captive bred? I assume."

I decide to take it the snake, manager gets a box... with air holes. Manager puts snake in box, snake immediately climbs out air hole, drops to the ground and makes a break for it as the oblivious manager starts closing the box up.

Manager catches the snake and instructs the clerk to tape over the air holes.
She does.
From the OUTSIDE.
Needless to say, I bought a small critter keeper to take him home in rather than let him glue himself to the side of the box.

Manager hands the empty box to another clerk. "The snake peed in the box" The snake had been in its water bowl.

Oh, and the sign on his cage "Fed 5/27 3 frozen pinkies"
I can only hope it meant "frozen/thawed".

To the pictures!

In the critter keeper when we got home.

He just noticed the top was open.

Once I got him in his tub with substrate it took me 10 minutes to get a picture of him.

Of course, once I got the first picture, he decided to start zooming around so fast he blurred in the picture.
