Define heat pad. Are you meaning the under tank heaters or a normal average human heating pad??????
You can use a under tank heater if you
have too. But you must buy a heat regulator and temp gun in order to control it so you don't over heat the reptile and kill it. Or melt the bottom of the cage or warp it.
