feeding emerald tree boas

i was reading this website about emeralds http://www.kingsnake.com/emeralds/
and in the feeding information its saying how to not feed them too much or they get sick. both of my emeralds are close to 3 years old and eat pretty well. the male is 5 feet and takes small rats (only 1 per feeding) the female is 4 feet and eats 4 mice at a time. her previous owner told me she usually eats rats but sometimes will only eat mice and thats all she'll eat for me. but either way i feed them usually every 10 days to 2 weeks. this website is saying thats good except to feed males even less than that. 3-4 weeks apart.
was just curious how often every one here feeds their emeralds and if theyv had any regurge problems like the website said can happen.
