boa cages

I'm currently in the process of finalizing some designs for a boa cage. I'm hearing several things about size and vents, and also had some questions about doors, so I figured I'd ask. I'm planning on building a cage for an adult boa, as I already have a good design for the juvies (basically the same thing in smaller dimensions), but I keep hearing some people say 4x2x1, 4x2x2, 5x2x1, and all the way up to 6x2x4. Should I start on a smaller cage and build a larger one if the animal outgrows a 4x2x1? I also want to be able to add some landscaping to give the snake some variety in landscape. I was also curious about venting, and how other people have done it. I've heard about the plastic pipe grates, available at home depot, I've seen designs using metal pipe grates, and others have used pegboard. Any suggestions? Also, has anyone found a good place to find tracks for sliding glass doors? It'll need to be able to accomodate 1/4 inch glass. Home Depot didn't actually have anything that I really liked, which surpised me. I was hoping for the plastic tracks that I've seen in other designs.

Thanks all in advance for your help. Any suggestions and pics would greatly be appreciated.
