Soloman Island Ground Boa Question. How Small is too small?

I know that males are considerably smaller than females, but my question is how small is to small (to breed)?
I am getting a large adult female SIGB in a couple days and I have a year and a half male that is ALOT smaller than her. I know it's really late to start cycling them, but I was just wondering if I should even bother, or just wait til next season and hope he's big enough then?
Anyone here have experience breeding SIGB's? If so any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Hump.
