building an enclosure

Okay....my boa is still a baby and I currently have him housed in a rubbermaid. I am going to build him a nice place to reside as he gets bigger. Since boas are aboreal I was thinking of making an enclosure that would be 3-4' wide and 5' tall. I want to have three different levels the boy can climb up to and include maybe a Sycamore branch that would start at the bottom and go all the way to the top. The branch itself would branch out on the different levels too so Bowie could climb up if he wanted too.

The cage itself will probably be built out of wood with plexi-glass or acrylic sides. Would a heating pad work on the bottom or would a heating lamp be better?

Any input would be GREATLY appreciated.

Does this sound like a good plan? Anything else to consider?

thanks.
