Unknown Egg Found in House Plant

Hey Everyone,

My brother found this egg in a house plant of his. The house plant is tropical, but my best guess is that it was farmed in Canada. This egg was found on the top of the soil much to his surprise, as it wasn't previously there (maybe the water flushed it up?).

The shell is hard, and about the size of a Cadbury Mini-Egg (this is no Easter joke). The soil he is using is Miracale Grow Soil.

Any guesses? Answers?

Let me know what you think.

Steve
(p.s. it was still moving when the shell was opened, which is interesting)
