Ready to roll...

Well it looks like I should have two clutches of carpet eggs in the next few weeks. I have my incubator set up and can't wait to use it. I was lucky to have a friend give me some bearded dragon eggs to test it out and it worked great!

Last year I used the no substrate method and had good results but for the beardie eggs I used damp vermiculite so they wouldn't drown. I noticed that for some reason the tub with vermiculite had less condensation than the tub with the same height of water. So this year I will use vermiculite with egg crate on top. This way the eggs are still not touching any substrate, I don't have to worry about drowning, and there will be less condensation.

This pic shows the difference in condensation between the two methods...
