African Fat-tail Enclosure (lots of pictures)

I set up a new tank for the younger AFT girls. It's a 55 gallon tank big enough for the group of 5. I used a Zoo-med heat cable warming ceramic tile, and also wound through and over warm humid hides and wood pile and bed-a-beast substrate for the floor.

Warm humid hide over ceramic tile heated by Zoo-med heat cable.

Exlporing the wood pile. All wood has been siliconed securely to prevent collapse. Cubbyholes, nooks and crannies in the pile are being used as cool hides.

AFT enclosure with a glimpse of the 3 warm hides underneath the ceramic tile. Slate slabs and rainbow quartz on the floor of the hides help keep the floor cosy and warm.

Dori curled up in one of the holes on top of the woodpile.

There's a fluorescent light, but it was turned off for the photo session to help cut back on the camera flash reflections.
I do admit that crickets can hide very well in this tank, but after watching the geckos, I think they just love the hunt. They snoop all over the hiding areas and pounce on the crickets. I get the impression they're thrilled with this new 'game' they can play now.

There are more pictures of enclosures in my photo gallery 'UTH setups and enclosure pictures' folder.
