Question mainly for AnnieB...

... but posted for everyone else to learn from, or if anyone else has experience dealing with such a situation.

I absolutely fell in love with a little rat in my basement and decided I had to keep him. I have a 'baby tank' in my room for such situation, to grow the babies up a bit and get them used to me before introducing them to the pet cage. During this time, I also bring up a friend for them to keep company with. I brought up his sibling, which is nearly identical, only to find over the course of time that one of them clicks sometimes, and the other sneezes. I know some infections can be cleared up with antibiotics, but myco is generally uncurable, and found in most rats. My pets have never ever displayed any respiratory problems (the one however can sometimes get a crusty nose). I really love this little guy, he is so sweet... he acts like he's been handled his whole life and is just too cute - big mousey ears on him. I love my pets though, and I don't want to introduce anything to them that isn't already there. I'm just wondering if I should move this guy back in to the basement, or if people have successfully introduced rats like this after treatment of sorts?
