Endangered Herptile Something or other..

There's this Australian guy that lives around here that is part of this Endengered Bird Breeding Associaton. He once had some endangered Amazon parrots that were sent to him by the association for him to breed, which he did successfully, to send somewhere. I'm not exactly sure on all the details, but he wound up keeping them as they became on the not-endangered list.

Is there anything like that in which people can breed endangered reptiles? As some people's signatures say: Conservation through captive propogation.

I thought it was pretty interesting, and I also figure that captive propogation is going to be one of our few last resorts to maintaining some of the variety of herptiles.

Any thoughts?
