I thought my above rhetoric covered this but I'll try the same example again. lol!
Imagine you are at home with your family and while you're in your herp room cleaning cages you suddenly have a house fire. Do you grab as many of your animals as you can and push mom down on the way out the door?
Why not? If the animal's lives are each worth as much as a single human life then aren't the 12 rubbermaids you've managed to carry more important than poor old mom? If not her then how about a stranger? If not how about the single most polluting man on the face of the planet?
Does what man has done to the planet even have anything to do with the question of whether animals lives are equally as valuable as those of people?
I don't know, maybe we aren't speaking the same language here...
