An up and coming project for next year

These are some Nicaraguans I originally bought from Boa mania as blood boas. They are not bloods but they are definately something different.

They display an amazing dark red coloration on thier sides, bellies and tails. They are actually getting redder with age.

I beleive them to be a form of hypo or hyper erythristic (increased red) form of Nicaraguan.

I hope they prove out as most hypo nics have proven out to be co dominant both in the U.S. and here in Canada (Stav)

Here are some pics

One of 3 females

These were all farm bred babies brought into the U.S. by Ben Seigal and then into Canada.

They are tough to photograph but will be on display at the upcoming Red Deer show in Aug.

The male should be ready to go this year and I will be attempting to breed him to some normal Nicaraguan females to prove out the genetics. The 3 females may have to wait until next year. These are truly tiny boas with the largest female being about 4 feet in length at around 2.5 years old.

Enjoy

Dan
