Question newbie

Okay all maybe you can help me. My husband and I own 0:0:1 corn snake, and in a week we will have a trio of crested gecko's. This being said I still consider us newbies in the herp world. We would like to expand our collection by getting a boa or python of some sort. I was wondering if there is a smallish (4ft or less) boa/python that is fairly docile and good for beginners. I was also wondering if there is a comprehensive web-site listing info on ALL of the boa and python species. I'm at a loss on what to search for since the only boa I'm familiar with is the original general boa constrictor. Pythons I have no clue about. Any and all info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
