Ok, kind of stupid question seeing as how I probably know the answer to the first part of the question, but I thought I'd ask anyways.
As I think everyone knows, I'm shooting for 1.1 neonate ATB's come April 18th. If you don't know, you do now
And I'm looking at the issue of housing. First question being, I'm getting JD Terreriums to build me a nice enclosure and I really wanted to just get them a large enclosure for when they're a bit older that measures 3' L by 2-3' H by 2' D as I was reading many caresheets and it said that the minimum housing requirements for a pair of adult ATB's is 3' by 2' by 2'...here's the stupid question. I'm wondering if I should go with that, or get them two smaller enclosures that they can live in seperately and only put them together for breeding purposes (In three years when they're old enough). I like the idea of one enclosure with the two of them in there, however, I don't know if it's a good idea, keeping in mind I'll feed them seperately.
So, if that's the case that it's NOT a good idea to have a male and female ATB pair housed together, what's the cage requirements for ONE? lol ATB Caresheets are few and far between on the net.
I was planning on a heat lamp (I'm comfortable with them and have the most experience with them when it comes to temp control), but I wouldn't be able to do that if I got two enclosures because I'd want to stack them. So I'd have to figure that part out aswell.
I'm so torn with what to do. I also have a spare tank that would probably work for one of them. Humidity is not a problem as I have tons of practice keeping it up. Anyways, I'll wait for everyone's advice, even though I know the answers will already be, "DO NOT house two snakes together if you can help it", however, for all I know, I could be wrong with ATB's...
