dimmer wiring question

Hello all.

I've used the build a rheostat directions by Katey and Lisa three times now to build dimmer boxes. Excellent directions and the results are great. Here's what I want to do though: Instead of using a double box, I want to use a triple and wire two dimmers into one outlet. One to the top plug, and one to the bottom, so I can use one box for every two cages.

Now, I know there are separate wiring screws for the upper and lower plugs, and I know that there's a tab shorting them together that I have to break off on each side to separate the circuits. What I dont know is how to wire them from one power cord. Do I split the hot, negative and grounds, and wire each dimmer/plug circuit parallel to each other? That'd be my guess since if I do them in series, I'll have both plugs wired to both dimmers. Hmmm...maybe I've answered my own question. Any electrical guys care to comment?
