If correcting a bad husbandry issue is being "mean", then believe me, I'd rather have someone be mean than politely sit back and wait to hear about another departed reptile. The closest to mean I've seen is when someone asks for advice, which implies they have doubts about something, then pointedly ignore 8-12 people who all advise the same thing, because it's not the answer they want to hear (or so I assume to be the reason).
