Hey guys...

I just got my 8' long 3' wide and 2.5'high tank..

It's made out of melamine(sp) plexi and tempered glass...

Right now it's just a bare tank...nothing is in it, and it's sitting on my floor...

I'm gonna do the substrate with cypress mulch, and am going to get plenty of hides/multiple water bowls...

I know what I'm gonna do about everything else in the tank, my only concern is the heating...

I can get the red lights no problem, but I hear belly heat is important..

so my question is, being that this tank sits on the floor, how am I supposed to get a heating pad underneath without burning the wood tank or the carpet???

even if I propped the tank up an inch the pad would still lay on the carpet all day...seems to me the overhead heat lamps are the way to go.
