Hello all
Hi all. My daughter, Annies Mom, introduced me to this site, and I tell you, I wish there'd been something like this when I first started getting into constrictors. My snake, Babe, the one AnniesMom mentioned that died recently, was just a 3.5 yr old when I got her(him) back in 1976. Babe was poached from the wild, smuggled into Canada and sold in what I thought was a reputable reptile distributer. Couldn't have been all that reputable if he sold poached animals tho, could he?
Anyways, Babe got a rocky start, what with refusing food, being riddled with ticks, and I sexed her wrong... had a 50/50 chance and got it wrong. Oh well. She(he) turned out just fine.
After that, I got a retic and a bull snake. They came and went in about 10 years, but Babe stayed on.... and on....
I'm too old now to get another snake, since it would probably outlive me. But I'd highly recommend BCI's as pets. I found Babe to be affectionate, curious, definite in her likes and dislikes, and docile.
Glad to be here and I look forward to reading about all your fine animals.
