found a baby corn

My grandfather found this little guy at work (he works in the forestry dept. for the city of Tampa, FL). He's so tiny, I doubt he's had his first shed. He has a little cut on the underside of his belly, so I am going to keep him for a few days and treat it. Do you think I should wait until he sheds and then try to feed him, and then let him go? Or just treat the wound and let him go? I live right next to a canal, so I'm going to release him there. There are plenty of prey around here for him to eat, and we have loads of other corns around. Isn't he cute?
