breeding mice

hey there,
i used to be a huge commercial breeder for rodents and i got out of the hobby but i now own 9 snakes, 2 of which eat live still.
Today i purchased 4 female and 1 male mice in hopes to breed my own. however, i dont know the best way to kill them .I dont have access to CO2 (well i do sorta but i would rather not go into that if i dont have to).
A friend of mine got me rodents from a reptile show and they were live so he put them in his freezer. it took a few hours. and i found that utterly cruel.
my questions are,
1. is it a long death for pinkies in the freezer?
2. how do you do cervical dislocation....a method i would like to do.
3. is there anything else besides that which is humane still?
