how to feed a hatchling anole?

a friend of mine recently found a hatchling anole at her flower shop.....apparently it is common when importing plants....anyhow...i know little about lizzards....so i've come to you for help! this is the information that she gave me....the anole is about an inch long and is housed in a 20 gallon tank with about an 1.5" of repti-bark. There are branches and pothos in the tank.
She was told (by a petstore)to mist the plants frequently because the anole drinks water from the leaves and they told her to feed it pinhead crickets....what worries her is that the crickets are so little that they will be lost in the substrate and the anole won't find them....is that a possibility?...if it is....how can it be remedied? I'm in the process of getting some caresheets for her and maybe a good book....any recommendations there?....
