Baytril, nor any other antibiotic is recommended for ANY snake under the age of one year. These antibiotics are very potent, especially Baytril. Amikacin is also used, and may not be as strong as Baytril, but no antibiotic is recommended for use on any snake younger than one year. I am sorry for the loss of your boa, and I am glad you have other snakes to help console you. Peace
